Special Edition – Golf Tournament Recap
The Kentucky Chapter is excited to announce that the preliminary account reconciliation of proceeds for the Inaugural Kentucky Leaders of Tomorrow® Golf Tournament are just at $10,000, which covers the budget for the program year. There were 30 golfers and volunteers in total. Additionally, with the help of Brown-Forman the presenting sponsor, the Chapter was able to present Mr. Chris Lattimore a post-dated scholarship check. Mr. Lattimore was a Leaders of Tomorrow® student last year and is currently a sophomore at Seneca High School. The chapter will hold his scholarship funds until he begins college in 2018.
Many of the tournament participants learned about Leader of Tomorrow® for the first time on last Friday. As such, many were interested in volunteering in the future as subject matter experts. The Leaders of Tomorrow® volunteer committee will be sure to follow up to engage them.
Since we had fewer participates than expected, any extra supplies, food, and/or drinks not utilized during the golf tournament will be utilized to support the Leaders of Tomorrow® students where there is direct need.
Thank you again to our presenting sponsor, Brown-Forman, and to our executive sponsors: KFC Corporate, Humana, Metro United Way, and Republic Bank. Also, thank you to those who made in-kind donations: PepsiCo, F&M LLC, Larry Demeritte, Andrew Schmitt, TEK Systems, Cake Flour, Fire Fresh BBQ, Joseph’s Salon & Spa, Medley’s Auto Repair, SuperChefs, Michelle Hogan, and Hillary Bullock. Additionally, thank you to our noted lifetime members Alan Benson and David Cosby.
As a result of the funds raised for the Kentucky Leaders of Tomorrow®, students will be able to attend the annual LOT Success Boot Camp in September and the LOT Business Case Competition in June. In addition to funding the program, 2 students will receive $1,000 scholarships each. We will continue to update the community on the progress of the Kentucky Leaders of Tomorrow®. Your support is greatly appreciated.
