Letter from the Chapter President

Happy New Year and thank you to the Kentucky Chapter members for your vote of confidence in me and the chapter officers to once again lead the chapter. I am pleased to update you on the progress the chapter has made in the past year and give you a glimpse into the plans for 2016.

In 2015 the Kentucky Chapter set out to further the mission of increasing the intellectual and economic wealth of African Americans in Kentucky. The particular focus in 2015 was on the Kentucky Leaders of Tomorrow® program that the chapter facilitates in the West End at St. George’s Scholar Institute.  The 2015 Kentucky Leaders of Tomorrow® students had a remarkable success because of our partners, donors, members, and volunteers. With the funds raised in 2015, Kentucky Leaders of Tomorrow® students were able to attend the annual LOT Success Boot Camp in September and the LOT Business Case Competition in June. In addition to funding the program, 2 students received $1,000 scholarships each. All of which, the chapter and the students are grateful to have experienced.

As the Kentucky Chapter leaders unveil the 2016 plan of events for students and members alike, we hope to increase partner and member engagement. I am confident that with the current chapter leaders, the Kentucky Chapter will continue to move towards the mission of increasing the intellectual and economic wealth of African Americans in the Commonwealth. The 2016 Kentucky Chapter leaders are: Roshae Darville, Jesse Dunbar, Eboni Edwards, Bethel Kidane, Aisha Neal, and Alex Niles. We hope to see you on Leap Day to kick off the 2016 program year at Molly Malone’s.

Regards,
