KY NBMBAA 2015 Officer Elections

The Kentucky Chapter is currently preparing for the 2015 Officer Elections. Below are the open positions for the 2016/2017 term. If you are interested in one of these volunteer roles, please send a short description of which role you are interested in, a bio, and a resume to kynbmbaa@gmail.com with the subject line: 2015 KYNBMBAA Officer Elections. Additionally, members can submit nominations via the same process. All chapter officers will be subject to a background check. The application deadline is November 25, 2015 at midnight (this is the extended deadline).

PresidentThe President shall serve as the chief executive officer of the Chapter by developing goals and objectives for the Chapter that is in line with the NBMBAA mission statement. Vice President, OperationsThe primary objective of this role for the 2016/2017 term will be to implement process improvements in the operations of the Chapter. This includes project management, event operations, officer elections, travel logistics, and application processes. As this is a large scope of responsibility, this person will be required to provide a strategic plan and budget for operations by the end of Q1 2016. Vice President, AdministrationFor the 2016/2017 term the main objective of this role will be to increase chapter membership. To this end, a strategic plan and budget for increased membership will be required by the end of Q1 2016. Additionally, this role will require the establishment of a committee. The current VP of Administration will still be engaged in 2016 to assist as needed and act as the first committee person. Director of Marking and Communications – This person shall take full ownership of all chapter marketing and communications, which includes website, email and snail mail newsletters, social media, public relations, digital media, traditional media, print advertising, and event marketing for the 2016/2017 term. As this is a large scope of responsibility, this person will be required to provide a strategic plan and budget for marketing and communications by the end of Q1 2016. Leaders of Tomorrow® ChairpersonThe Leaders of Tomorrow® Chairperson is an intensive volunteer position. However, a 7 person committee is already established, which will include the chapter president and the immediate past LOT Chairperson. A schedule for the 2015-2016 program year has already been established. The LOT Chairperson will ensure the schedule is executed as planned. Are you looking for an ongoing, intensive volunteer opportunity with high school students in the West End? The Kentucky Chapter of the National Black MBA Association has something just for you. We have an open volunteer position for our next Leaders of Tomorrow® chairperson. Leaders of Tomorrow® teaches high school students in the West End MBA level skills and puts those skills to the test via a national business case competition and student conference. Leaders of Tomorrow® also provides (2) $1,000 scholarships to students annually. If you would like to learn more about the duties of the Leaders of Tomorrow® chairperson, the volunteer duties can be found here:

If you are interested in learning more about each role, click on the title. Even if the position is not currently open, you can begin working with the current chapter executive to get a hands on feel for the duties. Also, the Chapter Executive team meets monthly to discuss and decide on the direction of the Kentucky Chapter. All NBMBAA members are invited to attend the monthly leadership meeting.
