Blondie’s and Jim’s Bistro Give Back Day

On June 27, 2024, the Kentucky Leaders of Tomorrow® program partnered with Blondie’s and Jim’s Bistro for a special Give Back Day in support of the 2024 to 2025 program year. Families, community members, and supporters came together to enjoy an afternoon of elevated southern cuisine, fellowship, and impact.
Blondie’s and Jim’s Bistro generously donated 10 percent of food sales from the day to benefit the Kentucky LOT® program. These funds help support local initiatives, leadership development sessions, scholarships, and year-round programming for high school students across the Commonwealth.
We are deeply grateful to the team at Blondie’s and Jim’s Bistro for their partnership and continued investment in the next generation of Black leaders.

Virtual Conference Readiness Session

On September 9, 2024, the Kentucky Chapter of the National Black MBA Association® hosted a virtual session titled “Affirm Your Commitment to Excellence and Transformation” to help participants prepare for the upcoming 46th Annual Conference and Career Expo in Washington, D.C.
Led by Chanda Hand, DEI Manager at Alstom Americas and Past President of the Kentucky Chapter, this session offered strategic guidance for maximizing the conference experience. Attendees received tools, tips, and insight on networking, navigating breakout sessions, and preparing for high impact professional engagement.
Open to professionals, students, and entrepreneurs, this session emphasized that the National Conference is for individuals across all industries, regardless of degree status. From leadership development to career exploration and community building, this session prepared attendees to show up with clarity and purpose.
We extend our appreciation to Chanda Hand for her leadership and to all who joined us for this engaging and practical event.

Harnessing your Passion & Purpose
October 29, 2024 | Yum Brands Headquarters | Louisville, Kentucky
The Kentucky Chapter of the National Black MBA Association partnered with Yum Brands for a high impact evening centered on leadership, purpose, and professional growth. Titled Harnessing Your Passion and Purpose, the event featured Jennifer Green, Chief Legal Officer for Digital and Technology at Yum Brands.
Jennifer shared her inspiring leadership journey, emphasizing the role of passion, values, and purpose in achieving success. Attendees had the opportunity to hear actionable advice on personal development while also enjoying a behind the scenes tour of Yum Brands headquarters.
Professionals at all stages of their careers connected with the Yum Brands talent acquisition team, explored potential career opportunities, and engaged in meaningful dialogue around transformative leadership. Light refreshments were provided, and the atmosphere reflected the shared mission of equipping leaders for impact.

Black Professionals Networking Mixer
November 14, 2024 | The Pointe | Louisville, Kentucky
The National Black MBA Association® – Kentucky Chapter joined forces with several of Louisville’s premier Black professional organizations for a dynamic evening of connection and community. Held at The Pointe, the Black Professionals Networking Mixer welcomed leaders and members from organizations representing Black educators, accountants, attorneys, and entrepreneurs.
With the theme “Your Network is Your Net Worth,” the event fostered meaningful dialogue, cross-sector collaboration, and new professional alliances. Attendees engaged in open networking, learned more about the mission of each organization, and shared space in a setting designed to uplift and empower.
Dr. Angelique Johnson, CEO of Vissionaireum, generously provided the event space as an in-kind donation. In addition to networking, she offered guests a tour of her corporate training facility and shared information about her services that support vision-rich leaders and organizations.
We thank our community and corporate partners for joining us for an evening of unity, fellowship, and shared purpose.

Holiday Soiree – Happy Hour Mixer
December 12, 2024 | Blondie’s and Jim’s Bistro | Prospect, Kentucky
The National Black MBA Association® – Kentucky Chapter closed out the year with festive cheer during its annual Holiday Soiree on December 12, 2024. Held at Blondie’s and Jim’s Bistro in the Norton Commons community, this happy hour mixer offered an evening of fellowship, holiday spirit, and professional connection.
Attendees enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and door prizes. The first twenty-five members received a complimentary drink ticket for the evening’s signature holiday cocktail. The event served as both a celebration and a moment of gratitude for members, partners, and friends who contributed to the chapter’s success throughout the year.
We thank everyone who joined us and look forward to continuing our impact in the new year.
