Honoring Our Legacy Networking Social

February 27, 2025 | Brendon’s Catch 23 | Louisville, Kentucky 

In celebration of Black History Month, the National Black MBA Association® – Kentucky Chapter hosted its Honoring Our Legacy Networking Social on February 27, 2025. This event recognized two major milestones—55 years of impact by the national organization and 30 years of service by the Kentucky Chapter. 

Held at Brendon’s Catch 23, the evening brought together members, partners, and guests to reflect on the historical significance of Black professionals in business while also strengthening community ties. Appetizers were served, and attendees had the opportunity to expand their networks in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. 

We thank all who joined us in honoring the legacy of excellence, leadership, and service that continues to guide our chapter’s work.

Build Up Wealth Through Homeownership

March 13, 2025 | Louisville, Kentucky 

In partnership with G. Starks Realty, the National Black MBA Association® – Kentucky Chapter hosted a panel discussion on homeownership as a wealth-building strategy. The event, held at AMPED RTBI, provided valuable insights into the homebuying process for both first-time buyers and seasoned investors. 

Attendees heard from a panel of real estate professionals, including William Starks Jr. of G. Starks Realty, Tony Williams of Canopy Mortgage, and Todd Bond of Turn Key Title and Escrow, LLC. The conversation was moderated by Anthyun Mask, Vice President of Administration and Membership for KYBLACKMBA and an investor with The Mask Property Group. 

Topics included understanding down payments, navigating the lending process, evaluating homeownership as an investment, and building generational wealth through real estate. Light refreshments were served, and guests had the opportunity to network with panelists following the discussion.

Virtual Speed Networking with YPAL

March 19 | Virtual Event 

The Kentucky Chapter of the National Black MBA Association® partnered with the Young Professionals Association of Louisville (YPAL) for a virtual speed networking session designed to help young professionals connect, engage, and develop. 

Held during the lunch hour, this fast-paced event allowed participants to build meaningful connections through a series of small-group breakout sessions. Attendees received prompts to guide each round of introductions, creating space for authentic conversations and community building across industries. 

The collaborative session emphasized professional development, social connection, and mutual support. With multiple breakout rounds, everyone had the opportunity to engage with new peers and expand their professional network.

Celebration Week 2025

March 31 – April 4, 2025 

The Kentucky Chapter of the National Black MBA Association® proudly joined the national network in commemorating 55 years of excellence, advocacy, and impact during Celebration Week 2025. Throughout the week, members engaged in virtual and in-person events that honored the organization’s legacy while advancing its mission to support and empower Black professionals. 

The week opened with the State of the Association 2025, followed by a powerful Legacy Series: Shaken But Not Stirred, and an insightful Upskilling Workshop: The Remix. On April 3, members gathered at The Presley Post for the Kentucky Chapter Meeting and Black Business Spotlight, fostering local engagement and entrepreneurship. The week concluded with a celebratory 55th Birthday Membership Drive, offering new and renewing members a 30 percent discount. 

Celebration Week 2025 reflected the enduring impact of the NBMBAA® and its commitment to creating pathways for growth, leadership, and connection.

Pre-Juneteenth Networking Event

June 12, 2025 | The Presley Post | 6:00 PM 

In celebration of Juneteenth, the Kentucky Chapter of the National Black MBA Association® partnered with the Tech Alliance, NABA, and Louisville Urban League Young Professionals for an evening of cultural connection, community, and celebration. The event brought together professionals for networking, Black history trivia, tastings from Black-owned brands, and raffle prizes. 

Held at The Presley Post, this free community event encouraged attendees to engage in meaningful conversations while enjoying food provided by Chef’s Cut and interactive trivia games. The evening created space to honor Black excellence and build connections across the professional landscape in Louisville.
